RBS BOXER PROUD!

Show your BOXER PRIDE! Print out and color a Boxer. Then, hang it proudly in your window to show your Boxer Pride. Take a walk around your neighborhood or a drive around town. Count the Boxers that you see. We are all in this together and we are all proud RBS Boxers!

THIS IS THE ART LESSON FOR THE WEEK OF 4/27-4/29.
If you have art on Thursday of Friday this week,
we'd love for you to participate too!

WEEK 2: ART UPDATE!

PARENTS:
Having survived my first week of being an online teacher and a parent of elementary aged online learners, I have a few updates to our Weekly Art Expectations:

  • If you have several students at RBS, and it is easier for you do their assignments at the same, time/day PLEASE DO!      I understand my activities can make messes and making a big mess once is better than the same mess several times.
  • I am noticing it is hard for my own children to regulate their time without their classmates around. There is no social clock or announced transitions. These art activities should take about 30-45 minutes only. If they have additional time and want to do more, great, but feel free to cut them off some.
  • I HAVE STRICT CLEANING EXPECTATIONS IN THE ART ROOM. Students should be picking up their own messes. Furthermore, your children love to clean my classroom. Soapy rags and dust pans are frequently fought over.      No, I'm not lying :) Feel free to give them cleaning activities and call it art class! Wiping, sorting, sweeping, and "dishes" are our most common chores.

ONLINE LEARNING!

Hello Artists!!!

I know that the uncertainty of staying home can cause some worry! Don't fret!
All of your teachers here at RBS will be with you all the way with new and exciting opportunities for learning.

In the art room we can use this time for creative thinking, fun, and creating more individual art! Will we do a variety of activities using basic materials. If you do not have any basic art materials at home, such as computer paper, pencils, crayons or markers, please have an adult contact Mrs. Reese, and she will be able to provide your family with some!

Please use my blog to start your lesson every week. I will post links to videos on FlipGrid and Youtube, inspirational photographs, and Google Docs on this blog to use with your art materials at home. All lessons are organized on grade level pages listed on above tabs.

Looking forward to taking this adventure with you all!

DEERFIELD FAIR WINNERS!

Thank you to all students who displayed their work at the Deerfield Fair! As a School District, we earned 3rd Place Overall!

ART CLUB ROSTERS

Art Club Sign Ups were completed on 9/23/19. As usual, I had many kids sign up and quickly filled up my classes. Attached you can see the final rosters and the approximate time frame of when a club will start and end. If your child handed in their form late, they have been put on a waitlist if another student changes their mind. Thanks so much! Mrs. Read

2019 3rd & 4th Grade Art Clubs

Dear RBS Families,

This year I am requiring a parent signature in order to sign up for Art Clubs. In years past, I have had some issues with unreliable attendance. I purchase and plan materials for children who sign up and this has lead to some consumable materials waste. In addition, some clubs are very popular and not all children get their first choice. If your child decides to sign up for art club, please discuss with them the importance of attendance.

Here is a link to the permission form needed to sign up. These forms are available in my room as well for your child to take.
All completed forms are due back to me by Monday, Sept 23, 2019.

Thanks for your help and supporting my program!
